Pearland Cottage Montessori
A Boutique Campus by Montessori School of Downtown
Pearland Cottage Montessori is a distinctive campus within the Montessori School of Downtown network, thoughtfully designed to reflect the warmth, simplicity, and authenticity of traditional Montessori education.
Inspired by the early journey of our founder, Rita Kumar—who began her work in Montessori education over 40 years ago in a small, intimate classroom—this campus is a return to the roots of what Montessori was always meant to be.
Set within the charm of old Pearland neighborhoods, Pearland Cottage Montessori embraces a boutique, cottage-style environment where education feels personal, and deeply connected. With smaller class sizes and a limited student body, each child receives individualized attention that fosters independence, confidence, and a genuine love for learning.
This campus is intentionally designed to move away from the scale and structure of larger, modern institutions, and instead recapture the essence of early Montessori classrooms—where hands-on discovery, mixed-age learning, and carefully prepared environments guide each child’s natural development.
At Pearland Cottage Montessori, we don’t just teach Montessori—we preserve its spirit.
Learning through the day
Our school environment is designed to let children learn through hands-on experiences and meaningful interactions. Surrounded by caring guides and supportive friends, they build confidence one moment at a time.
As the day unfolds, children move through classroom work, hands-on lessons, creative activities, and time for movement and outdoor play. Some work independently, others alongside classmates, guided by teachers who help the day progress with steadiness and care.

The pace remains unhurried, allowing children to stay focused, engaged, and comfortable as they move from one part of the day to the next.
