The Montessori School of Downtown summer program is a curriculum based summer camp. The program is based on thematic units, each of which explores ideas and concepts in a multidisciplinary way. Campers work on themed projects and take field trips to relevant venues while learning about and exploring things that interest them.
Our teachers approach instruction from the perspective that the camp should be filled with fun new experiences while allowing students the time they need to decompress and recharge themselves after a long school year. Given this perspective you can guess that there is plenty of time to have a lot of fun at our camp too.
Intermingled in the weekly schedule campers will find time for water play on our state-of-the-art splash pad, field trips to exciting venues like The Main Event & Putt Putt Fun House, movies & popcorn every Friday afternoon in our auditorium, and a great group of kids to make friends with. As one camper's mother recently said, “You must have those kids really working because my daughter is coming home every night and getting things ready for the next day.”
